Terms of use
Plain English. Use the listings, keep what you post accurate and fair, and tell us when something's wrong.

Who we are
What's On is run by Seedcraft ("we"). These terms cover the app and the website. Using either means accepting them, along with our privacy policy. You can reach us at hello@showmewhatson.live.
The beta
What's On is in beta: everything is free, including hosting, and features will change as we learn. If hosting ever costs money, it will be sold on our website, never in the app, and we'll talk to hosts first. Nothing is ever charged without you agreeing to it.
Accuracy
We work hard on accuracy but we don't run these events. Times, prices, venues and cancellations are set by the host and can change without us knowing. Check with the host before travelling, especially for anything ticketed or weather-dependent. We aren't liable for a wasted journey, a cancelled event, or a listing that turns out to be wrong.
If you spot something wrong, tap "Something wrong?" on the event in the app, or tell us at hello@showmewhatson.live, and we'll fix it.
Your account
- You need to be 13 or over to create an account.
- One account per person. Keep your sign-in to yourself; what happens on your account is down to you.
- You can delete your account from the app at any time.
- We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, misleads people, or puts others at risk.
Tickets, payments and door passes
We don't sell tickets and never handle your money. Where an event is ticketed, we link to whoever the host uses, and once you follow that link you're dealing with them under their terms, not ours.
Some events offer a free door pass: one per person per date, shown at the door and scanned by the host's team. A pass isn't a ticket or a guaranteed place. The host decides who comes in, including when the event is full.
Hosting events
If you host on What's On, as yourself or for a business or group:
- you're responsible for your events: that they're real, accurately described, lawful, and yours to run and publicise, and for safety, licensing and anything else running them requires;
- the details you give us when claiming a venue or getting verified must be true, and you must be entitled to act for that business or venue;
- places you add must be public places, never a home address;
- you're responsible for what your team does on your behalf, and for removing people who leave.
Until a host is verified, we check each event before it goes live. We can decline, edit for accuracy, or take down any listing, and suspend a host, in particular for anything misleading, unlawful, hateful, unsafe, or not actually an event.
What you post
You keep ownership of the words, photos and videos you post. You confirm you own them or have permission to use them, and you give us permission to show them on What's On, in the app, on the website and in our notifications, and to share them to promote your event and What's On, for as long as the event is listed and as a record afterwards.
Submitting an event on the website
Anyone can suggest an event without an account. By submitting one you confirm the details are accurate, you have the right to publicise it, and any photo is yours or used with permission. Every submission is checked before it appears, and we can decline anything.
Shared boards
A board you share can be seen by anyone with its link. Only share it with people you're happy to see it, and stop sharing from the board at any time.
Using What's On fairly
Browse, search, save and share individual listings as much as you like. Don't scrape the app or site in bulk, republish our listings as your own directory, pretend to be someone else, try to get into accounts or parts of the service that aren't yours, or interfere with how it works.
Our responsibility
We provide What's On as it is, and we can't promise it will always be available or free of mistakes. We aren't responsible for events themselves, for hosts, or for other sites you follow a link to. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or your rights as a consumer.
Changes
These terms will change as What's On grows, particularly when paid hosting arrives. We'll update the date at the top, tell you in the app when a change matters, and note material changes in the changelog. These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and the Scottish courts can hear any dispute about them.
